We built the SOGO App to be as intuitive and user friendly as possible, but we understand you may want some help getting started. This guide should answer any questions you have about SOGO, including setting up your round, entering scores and submitting your round for approval.

SELECTING THE RIGHT TYPE OF ROUND TO PLAY
Club Competition Rounds
Playing a competition round where your club will submit your score to GolfLink? Select this flow and SOGO can check your score against your GolfLink records after your round is complete.
Social Rounds
Enjoying a social round? You can still submit your score to the SOGO leaderboards and to GolfLink* using this flow. You will need another SOGO User so they can validate your score via their App.

SETTING UP YOUR SCORECARD
Step 1 - To select the Club you are playing start to type the Club's name in the search bar and a matching list will appear
Step 2 - You MUST select the correct Tees you will be playing from by tapping the "Tee" icon on the right side of the screen highlighted above
Step 3 - Select the Hole Range that you are playing
Note - Once you start you can jump to whichever hole you are starting from
Step 4 - You MUST check the course details are correct on the day you are playing. To change the Slope or Scratch Ratings just tap the incorrect numbers and enter the correct rating
CHECKING YOUR DAILY HANDICAP
SOGO Links directly to the GolfLink data base to pull down your current GA Handicap. Using the course slope rating SOGO will assign you with a Daily Handicap that you will use to compete on this round.
By rating the course difficulty as well as using your actual GA Handicap, SOGO is able to level the playing field, allowing you to compete against golfers on different courses right across Australia!
For social rounds, the Daily Handicap will also take into account rounds played on SOGO that weren't submitted to GolfLink.
SELECTING A VALIDATOR FOR YOUR ROUND
During Comp Rounds - You MUST enter the marker's details for your scorecard. Their Name and Golf Link Number is required. They do not need to be a SOGO User.
During Social Rounds - You MUST select another SOGO App User to validate your score. Search for your playing partners name and select them from the list.
Check Your Location - The SOGO App uses GPS technology to check that you are on the selected course and your Validator is with you.
Validator Confirmation - Once you tap "Send Request" your playing partner will see a notification on their phone asking them to confirm they will mark your scorecard.
ENTERING YOUR SCORE
The scoring screen has been designed to allow golfers to enter their score quickly and get back to the task at hand... Playing great golf!
Simply tapping the large center circle for a par or adjusting up or down for other scores means you can be back in the game in no time.
Hit the "Go to Hole" button to start scoring at any point within the course layout or go back and check a hole.
Any changes to course details (Par, Distance, Index) can be changed by the user just by tapping the top information bar where the information is displayed.
CHECKING THE LIVE LEADERBOARDS
By clicking on the trophy icon in the top left hand corner you can access the SOGO Live Leaderboards.
SOGO is unique in that it lets you track how you are playing against the field during your round.
It's great fun to check out your position on the weekly 9 and 18 hole leaderboards at any stage during the round, monitor your friends' scores on different holes and different courses.
The SOGO Live Leaderboards give golfers a real feel of what pro tournament golf feels like on a national stage!
VIEWING YOUR TOTAL SCORECARD
At any time during a round you can turn your phone sideways to view your scorecard.
Swipe across to view your front 9, back 9 and total scores as well as the hole information for upcoming holes.
At the end of your round you can also tap the share button to share your scorecard on your Facebook Profile.
REVIEW YOUR SCORE BEFORE SUBMITTING
Once you have completed your round, you will be presented with a summary of each hole and a total stableford point score.
Scroll up and down to review your strokes and stableford scores hole by hole.
If you have any changes you need to make, go back into the scoring screens to correct your score using the "Go to Hole" button.
When you are finished, tap the "Take Scorecard Photo" button to record a photo of your physical scorecard.
UPLOAD A PHOTO OF YOUR PAPER SCORECARD
The current rules of golf in Australia require golfers to submit a signed paper score card at the end of an official round.
NOTE: Make sure you allow access to your camera and photos to allow the upload to work.
Follow the prompts to take a photo of the entire scorecard and send to the team at SOGO for review and approval.
You can help us here by writing clearly, signing the card and capturing all information including the validator name and GolfLink number.

SEND YOUR SCORE TO YOUR VALIDATOR FOR CONFIRMATION
Since we are not able to check social scores against GolfLink, SOGO has come up with a patented device-to-device validation process that ensures both golfers are on the course and have checked each others cards.
Follow the prompts to send your score to your playing partner for confirmation.
NOTE: The device settings for push notifications on your phone must be enabled to ensure this part of your round goes smoothly.

FACEBOOK SHARING AND ACCESSING TO THE SOGO LEADERBOARDS
You've now successfully uploaded your score to the SOGO leaderboards. Before you go and check out where you are coming against the nation why don't you take a minute to upload your round to Facebook!
Simply rotate your phone sideways and hit the Facebook upload button to let you friends know about your round!
Once you are done simply tap the "Access Leaderboards" button to go directly to the Leaderboards section, where you can see how you stand in the Weekly, Monthly and Annual SOGO competitions.
CHECK OUT YOUR PERFORMANCE HISTORY AND SHOT TALLY
SOGO captures your full playing history so you can see how you are performing against par over time. Build your birdie count, compare with friends and understand what an average round looks like for you.
LOOK BACK AT YOUR PREVIOUS ROUND SCORES
SOGO can show you every round you've played across courses. Check out which courses are a happy hunting ground and where you can improve. You can even check out your best score on any course before you play it next so you can strive to set a new personal course record.
SEE YOUR TROPHY ROOM AND PAST ACHIEVEMENTS
Take a stroll through your trophy room any time. SOGO captures your achievements against the nation every time you tee it up.
With daily, weekly, monthly and annual trophies up for grabs you can get amongst the winners and with a simple screenshot you can share your achievements with your friends and playing partners.
CHECK YOUR POSITION ON THE SOGO LEADERBOARDS
The SOGO competition structure is unique in that your stableford score will be put against a series of leaderboards every time you play.
SOGO is a 9 and 18 hole competition meaning that even if you haven't shot your best 18 hole round, a great front or back 9 can still see you in the winners circle.
So if you are a fast starter or a strong finisher, chances are you will find yourself in the winners circle some time soon!
The weekly leaderboard takes your single best 9 and 18 hole score for the week and puts it against the nation. Play for bragging rights and free tokens as well as other bonus prizes.
The monthly leaderboard combines your three best 9 and 18 hole scores for the month and puts them against the nation. Play for huge prizes every month and the chance to call yourself the SOGO monthly champion.
The annual leaderboard combines your five best 9 and 18 hole scores for the year and puts them on a national leaderboard. Qualify for the annual final for the chance to win amazing prizes and the title of SOGO champion.
